DepEd and NHSs agrees partnership with DTC for Kariton Senior High School

DepEd Cavite Province along with Halang Banay-Banay National High School and Amadeo National High School, signed agreement with DTC’s (Dynamic Teen Company) KSHS (Kariton Senior High School) on 1:58 pm of June 19 at at Capitol Compound, Bry. Luciano,Trece Martires City, referred as the Cavite Province-Department of Education.

DepEd’s OIC- Schools Division Superintendent Cherry Lou D. De Mesa and NHSs principals welcomed DTC’s Chief Operating Officer Efren Peñaflorida, with a warm smile. The principals of the chosen NHSs (National High Schools) namely; Rufina V. Cortez of AMNHS (Amadeo National High School) and Norielyn Narciso of HBBNHS (Halang Banay-Banay National High School) have discussed some of the obligation of NHSs which to accept KSHS students as their official enrollee with a secured learners document and permanent records.

Together with DepEd Cavite Province, NHSs will also provide assistance to DTC’s volunteer teachers for KSHS like free workshops. While the students of KSHS ( Kariton Senior High School) are identified students of NHSs which are classified as students at risk of dropping out, out- of-school or dropped out, but despite of their classification they are accepted by NHSs as their own students and can join school activities like their regular student.

Under the implementation of KSHS, DepEd OIC Schools Division Superintendent Cherry Lou D. De Mesa stated that the teachers must adjust to the learners and the learners will adjust to them in reply to Mr. Efren Penaflorida’s statement “KSHS will not take over the school, but they exist as a service provider in catering Senior High School-General Academic Subjects.”

This agreement is being approved because of the strong will of the people of DTC, DepEd and NHSs not only to uplift the students who are left behind but also to promote love for learning.

As Mr. Efren Penaflorida expressed his gratitude to the people who made this agreement happened, DepEd OIC Cherry Lou D. De Mesa replied; “ (As I told the people about this agreement I shared that) If you make policy, these should be from the ground… (because they are the one who knew their needs)…Para sa batang Kabitenyo!”

The partnership of DTC for implementation of the program KSHS with DepEd and NHSs that will be remained valid for six years.
